Mr. McKinsey has over thirty years of executive level general management, administration,
marketing and finance experience. His background includes strategic business
planning, sales/manufacturing/finance executive responsibilities with particular
emphasis on operational turnarounds and financial restructuring in both industrial
and consumer businesses. He has led over 25 successful turnarounds of manufacturing
companies and participated in over 150 M&A assignments. Mr. McKinsey has served
as a corporate officer, director, and advisor to the board of directors.
Mr. McKinsey specializes in corporate development, operational and financial
restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, development of marketing strategy,
executive M&A training and interim management. Mr. McKinsey has had successful assignments in furniture manufacturing,
retailing and mail order, retail grocery operations, specialty chemicals, oil
refining and marketing, housewares, engineered water treatment and filtration
projects, building materials, printing, computer software, automobile parts,
manufacturing and distributing safety glasses.
Mr. McKinsey led the successful acquisition of Veritech Microwave for
Spectra Diode Labs, a transaction valued at $660 million. He later participated in the
sale of Spectra Diode Labs to JDS Uniphase for $18 billion. Other M&A clients have
included Alliant Energy, Ameren Services, SKF, Qualcomm, Ford Motor Company, Delphi
Automotive and Lydall Technical Papers.
Mr. McKinsey consulted with General Electric Credit Corporation on the successful
turnaround of Riverside, a $90 million furniture manufacturer. This assignment
included high level evaluation of top management and evaluation of sales/marketing,
manufacturing assets and financial prospects. Top management was replaced, product
mix/product development was redirected, new key accounts were obtained, and $54 million
in debt was restructured. Mr. McKinsey was both a director and consultant to Riverside
after the turnaround.
Earlier, Mr. McKinsey was Chairman, President and CEO of Dolly Madison Industries
(DMI). He
joined and successfully reorganized the company after it had been through seven years
of Chapter 10 bankruptcy. Mr. McKinsey took the company public, sold off unprofitable units,
arranged both short and long term financing, and streamlined the company's furniture
manufacturing business.
Before DMI, Mr. McKinsey was Group Vice-President of US Filter where he directed the
successful turnaround of 5 divisions, changing results from a $3 million loss to
$5.5 million profit. Sales were grown from $15.8 million to $42.6 million, while at
the same time reducing net working capital over 40%.
Prior to US Filter, Mr. McKinsey turned around three divisions for Dictaphone, two
divisions for Hamilton Cosco, and was manager of General Development Group for
WR Grace.
Mr. McKinsey received his Bachelor of Science at the University of Oklahoma and his
Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. He served on the
USS Allen M. Sumner and as a pilot in the US Navy.
